Sara Hunter, MA, LCPC

Ms. Hunter graduated from McKendree University in 2015 with her Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling and has been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois since 2018. Upon graduation, she worked as a Family Service Counselor where she provided counseling and crisis services to youth and their families. Ms. Hunter began working as a school counselor at JTC Academy in 2017 making this her third school year with us. Ms. Hunter states, "I enjoy working alongside the students and witnessing them utilizing skills that they have learned in sessions. My goal is to continue to assist the students in developing skills that will help them become successful adults."

Rachel Kent, MA, LCPC

Ms. Kent received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a duel master’s degree in clinical and school counseling from Lindenwood University.  Her clinical background consists of expertise in assessment, consultation, crisis management, case management, individual and family therapy, and linkage of care services. Ms. Kent has worked with children, adolescents, and families in an array of areas such as behavioral issues, anxiety, trauma, grief, anxiety, stress management, and divorce. She began working as a school counselor at JTC Academy in August of 2017 making this her third school year with us. 

As a therapist at JTC Academy, Ms. Kent's goal is to increase awareness with her students and help them reach their goals. She realizes that each student is unique and individual with their own stories to tell. One of Ms. Kent's favorite aspects of her position at JTC Academy is that she gets to work closely with faculty and parents as one team effort to support students.

Courtney Motl-Winters, MS, LPC

Courtney Motl received her bachelor's degree in psychology at McKendree University and her master's degree in clinical child and school psychology at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. She is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in pursuit to become a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). Before working at JTC Academy,  she provided counseling in the school and home settings. Ms. Motl states, “I like the one on one attention that the students get at JTC Academy. You can tell that staff cares about each student and hopes that they succeed.”

Mary Wilborn, MA, LPC

Ms. Wilborn earned her Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University in 2014 and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 2018.  She is starting her 6th school year at JTC Academy and has contributed greatly to the success of our students and has served as an outstanding leader and role model to her peers during her career here with JTC Academy.   Ms. Wilborn utilizes a holistic approach by working with the "whole child" by assisting youth with finding various career interests and different avenues to explore academically while providing a nurturing environment for youth to grow personally. Ms. Wilborn states the following:  "I look forward to continuing this journey with JTC Academy of learning and growing in my craft so that I can continue to assist students both therapeutically and academically."
